A Bibliography of Local History for

 Abingdon

----------------------------------------------------

This is a four-part bibliography intended as a tool for those researching Abingdon's local history.  It was assembled following an idea put forward by the Local History Group of the Abingdon Area Archaeological and Historical Society (AAAHS).

The bibliography  includes many references extracted from OLIS, (Oxford University Libraries Information System) the property of the University of Oxford which reserves database rights in them. I am gradually adding new references from other sources, including those from web pages. Suggestions for further items would be most welcome. Please let me or AAAHS know if you find the bibliography useful.

Visit the bibliography by clicking below. The references are in title order. More information about the town's many fascinating buildings and biographies of many who lived in those buildings visit the town council's website and click 'history'. This bibliography is also on the AAAHS web site.

Some entries are extracted  from W H Richardson's book A Short Bibliography of Abingdon (1902)  which was kindly donated by Michael Hocken.  Entries are quoted word-for-word and in italic. Sometimes they do not name the publisher.
